WHY SIX CONTACT POINTS
The AutoSolo 3D DSP Wheel Clamp with Tire Tread Grip Extensions mounts an alignment gauge to the wheel using two independent contact systems rather than one. Four adjustable rim locator pins seat against the rim, and two tire tread grip extensions bear against the tread face, giving six points of contact across two different surfaces. Spreading the load this way reduces the flex and wobble that a rim-only clamp can transmit into the gauge, which is what runout correction is working against. The clamp fits rims from 11 to 25 inches, covering compact cars through light trucks, and the stainless steel arms adjust with a rotating knob that needs no tools. A chrome-plated universal magnetic adapter plate is included and provides a flat magnetized face compatible with AutoSolo camber and caster gauges and most third-party magnetic instruments. Steel injection construction and the chrome finish resist rust and wear in a working garage. To zero the setup, compare the adapter plate angle against the wheel's outer rim with a digital level or a straight rod and match the two before taking any measurement.
